Snow Reporter Comments: Good morning! Thanks to all of you who joined us for the Pond Skim yesterday. Up next: our spring bonus days. Mother Nature seems to have missed the memo on the “spring” part of our bonus season. Today's forecast calls for dropping temps, lots of snow, and strong wind. As of the time of this report, we have the dropping temps, the strong wind, and overcast sky. On the ground: 1-4” of new snow depending on where you take your measurement. Given the cold, snowy, and windy weather, we invite you up to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Terrible segue, right? This time of year, the weather on the mountain is usually more like the weather in Jalisco than the weather in Juneau. We invite you to join in celebrating Mexico's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla. And we invite you to celebrate all aspects of Mexican culture today – Mariachi, Novelas, food, familismo... the list goes on. The contribution of our Mexican neighbors and our employees of Mexican descent to our lives and this ski resort is immeasurable and most welcome! And we'd still appreciate a warm sunny beach day on the slopes. But that's not what we've got. Dress for wind and snow and winter. Wind will prevent us running Cascade and Vista today. Star is right on the edge. Call it 50/50 for now. All those caveats should tone down the crowds. If you're a May storm skier, you'll have fresh tracks nearly all to yourself. Get it now. We're closed Monday through Friday this week. Hiking for turns is allowed but not encourage Monday through Thursday, but not Friday. There's no Patrol, no avalanche hazard reduction (and avy danger will be present), no hazard marking, and nothing to eat or drink. Want more support than that? We'll see you next Saturday and Sunday 9am-2:30pm with MHX, Buttercup, and Cascade. Have a great day of storm skiing!

First Hand Report
