A ski resort's overall star rating displayed here is not calculated based on a simple average but takes several factors, including the age of a review, into account.
Alyeska is not for beginners. But if you’re looking for steep lines. Unparalleled backcountry access all around, amazing hike to terrain, and even Heli skiing, this is the place for you. Also very little crowding evens during holidays compared to other resorts. Additionally Just about every mountain in the valley is rideable if you’re willing to earn your turns and many funnel back towards town.

Awesome, incredibly beautiful, and a great snowpark for freestyle.

The resort it self and service is terrible. Mountain is the mountain. Most things are broke, but at least you can expect high prices

Amazing resort with restaurants and even a Nordic spa! Fun little ski town with bars and a brewery. Chugash helicopter trips are right down the road! Super fun

prices for this mountain are to high for the amount of skiable terrain and lackluster amenities.

Getting more and more a Aspen kind of feel but this is still Alaska and needs to stay wild and crazy. Unfortunately prices are soaring but mountain upgrades are not.

Overall I like skiing the mountain but dislike the resort operations. They often close lifts with little or no explanation and only provide $10 discount. Costs are very high - lift ticket is $140.00 per person, hot dogs cost $18, tram rides for dinner or lunch is $50 and not included in meal. I ski all over North America and this resort is too expensive for the services, quality and skiing. Stay at an Airbnb or VRBO and eat in or go to local restaurants because the resort is not worth it. The hotel's only bar is currently under construction. Alyeska food is overpriced and poor quality. I paid $30 for small cold lasagna. Also Hotel fire alarm went off at 5 am Sunday morning making all of us to evacuate at 10 degrees weather. Never saw any staff. Never received any official notice to re-enter. Apparent cause was a frozen water line.

great all-around resort!... beautiful views from top .. especially when we can ski with and in the clouds only to find... full sun shine while ascending... :)

Like others have said, few lifts and most the terrain remains closed most of the time. They were bought out and it appears the new company is not interested in pumping money into the mountain, only into amenities i.e. the new spa. They laid off even more ski patrol this year so if you thought they were nonexistent before well...
On a POW day most stuff is skied off within an hour unless you have some random act where nobody shows up. When it's good and they open up more terrain it's a hard place to beat, but that combination hasn't happened much this year. They haven't opened New Years chute even once, and Christmas chute has only been opened a handful of times.
If anybody from Alyeska is reading this, we would all love you to open up more terrain consistently, add more lifts, or expand into other adjacent areas if possible.

Great resort for those strong intermediate and up, with world class expert terrain, including the longest Double Black run in N. America.
