26 Aug 2026 – Selwyn has closed for the remainder of the season after Thursday's rain took a heavy toll on what natural cover remained, and the cold snap needed to rebuild it through snowmaking never arrived. The mountain team held out as long as they could before making the call to end the winter early.
The Selwyn Centre stayed open the weekend after closing for food and drinks, giving guests one last chance to visit. Anyone with unused Ticket Mania or Black Friday vouchers, or bookings for the rest of the season, has been contacted directly about next steps. Attention at the resort now turns to 2027, with upgrades to the snowmaking infrastructure planned ahead of next winter.
