Snow Reporter Comments: Last updated: Wednesday, January 7 at 5:45AMGood morning! Forecasts are calling for colder air and strong cold air advection today, with overnight lows dropping into the teens—excellent temps for snowmaking. As typical with inside sliders, moisture will be limited; however, if the system tracks far enough west and taps into the departing low, a few snow showers are possible late tonight into tomorrow morning. Should precipitation develop, snow levels will fall to around 6,000 feet, possibly down near 5,000 feet overnight into early tomorrow, with an inch or two of accumulation possible.Snow Summit will open today with Chairs 1 and 8 spinning for skiers and snowboarders from 9AM–4PM today. Two terrain park features are currently open on Upper Summit Run, including a ride-on box and a tube. Grizzly Ridge Tube Park is projected to open this Saturday, January 10. In the meantime, head over to Snow Valley for the Coyote Creek Tube Park and snow play fun.Roads are currently open with no snow chain restrictions expected today on CA 330, CA 18 through Running Springs, and CA 18 through Lucerne Valley, though conditions can change at any time. We cannot predict future road or weather conditions, as we do not manage or control them, and all information is based on observed conditions from SoCalMtns.com. Please note that CA 38 will be under a full closure from Mill Creek Road to Hills Ranch Road Monday through Friday from 7AM to 5PM. The road will reopen nightly from 5:01PM to 6:59AM and will be fully open on weekends.
