The Bretton Woods Ski Resort is New Hampshire's largest ski area boasting 464 acres of the best downhill skiing and lessons around. Bretton Woods is consistently ranked among the best in the East for Snow and Grooming, and the state&rsquo;s Top Overall pick by SKI Magazine. Our Skyway Gondola passes breathtaking views of Mount Washington and the Presidential Range on the way up to the summit&rsquo;s impressive Rosebrook Lodge and the start to an amazing day on the slopes. The resort is home to an extensive trail system connected by updated chairlifts and snow making infrastructure, with snow-making capabilities on 92% of terrain. The new BEQII high speed quad lift will debut for the 2025/26 season.

Bretton Woods is accessible via several regional airports, with Portland International Jetport (ME) and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (NH) both within a two-hour drive. Boston Logan International Airport is approximately 160 miles away, offering broader flight options for out-of-state visitors. Shuttle services from these airports are available seasonally, and private transfers can be arranged through local providers. For those driving, Route 302 leads directly to the resort, with well-maintained roads and scenic views along the way.
Once at the resort, guests benefit from free parking and complimentary shuttle service between lodging areas and the base lodge. The Skyway Gondola provides direct access between the ski area and the Mount Washington Hotel, making ski-in/ski-out convenience available to many overnight guests. Ride-sharing services operate in the region, and resort shuttles run regularly during peak season to help guests move easily between facilities.

Bretton Woods is part of the Omni Mount Washington Resort &amp; Spa, comprised of a 269-guest room historic grand hotel, a 34-guest room country inn, and a variety of multi-bedroom bedroom townhomes. Ski &amp; Stay packages available, along with discounted ski tickets for registered resort guests.

Bretton Woods offers a diverse terrain profile across its 464 acres, with a vertical drop of 1,500 ft and summit elevation of 3,100 ft. The resort&rsquo;s 100 trails are served by 9 lifts, including the recently upgraded BEQ II high-speed quad, which improves access to upper mountain zones. The terrain is evenly distributed across skill levels, with 25% beginner, 40% intermediate, 25% advanced, and 10% expert runs. Snowmaking covers key areas, ensuring consistent conditions even during dry spells.
Beginners will find gentle slopes near the Learning Center and Rosebrook Lodge, with wide runs like Two Miles Home and Range View offering a relaxed descent. Surface lifts and slow-speed chairs make these zones ideal for first-timers and families. The base area is designed for easy access, with warming huts and rest stops positioned along beginner routes.
Intermediate skiers can explore the expansive cruisers off the Zephyr Express and Mount Rosebrook Express lifts. Trails like Sawyer&rsquo;s Swoop and Avalon provide long, rolling descents with scenic views of the Presidential Range. These runs are groomed daily and offer a comfortable challenge for progressing skiers.
Advanced terrain includes steeper pitches and tighter descents off lifts like Fabyan&rsquo;s Express and the new BEQ II. Upper Express and Bode&rsquo;s Run deliver sustained vertical and variable snow conditions, while the recently added black diamond glade between Upper Swoop and Upper Express introduces a new wooded challenge for experienced skiers.
Expert skiers can hike into off-piste zones and explore the resort&rsquo;s glades, which now number 35. The new black diamond glade features a cliff entry and smooth lower pitch, offering a technical descent without excessive hazards. These areas are best tackled after fresh snowfall and provide a more secluded experience.
Freestyle riders can enjoy the resort&rsquo;s terrain park, located near the base and featuring 8 rails and a rotating set of jumps and features. The park is designed for progression, with lines suitable for beginners and advanced riders alike. Two tubing lanes nearby offer family-friendly fun and a break from skiing.
Natural features like ridgelines and forested zones enhance the mountain&rsquo;s character. The longest run, Two Miles Home, offers a scenic descent from summit to base and is popular for end-of-day laps. Whether carving groomers or navigating glades, Bretton Woods provides a balanced and engaging terrain mix for all abilities.

Bretton Woods Ski Area and the Omni Mount Washington Resort &amp; Spa&nbsp;are centrally located in the heart of New Hampshire&rsquo;s White Mountains.
