Jay Peak Trail Map
Jay Peak’s terrain is spread across 385 acres, with 80 trails and 9 lifts serving a vertical drop of 2,153 feet. The summit reaches 3,968 feet, and the base sits at 1,815 feet. Snowmaking covers much of the mountain, but natural snowfall is abundant, making Jay one of the most reliable resorts in the East. The longest run stretches 3 miles, offering a scenic descent from summit to base.
Beginners will find their footing in The Zone, a learning area with wide, gentle slopes and introductory glades. This area is served by surface lifts and is ideal for first-timers and young skiers. Interstate is a favorite green run for its mellow pitch and easy access from the base.
Intermediate skiers have plenty to explore, with 35% of the terrain rated blue. Trails like Vermonter and Northway offer long, rolling descents with views of the valley. The Jet Triple lift provides access to a mix of intermediate and advanced terrain, making it a good hub for progressing skiers.
Advanced terrain includes runs like Can-Am and Upper Exhibition, which feature steeper pitches and natural features. The mountain’s glades—such as Valhalla and Timbuktu—are well-known for their spacing and snow retention. These areas are accessible from multiple lifts and offer a more technical challenge.
Expert skiers gravitate toward River Quai and Green Beret, two double-black runs known for their steep chutes and tight lines. Jay’s boundary-to-boundary glade policy allows for off-piste exploration within resort limits, adding to the thrill. Everglade, the longest glade at 1.25 miles, is a standout for deep snow and sustained vertical.
Freestyle riders can choose from three terrain parks, each designed for different skill levels. The parks feature jumps, rails, and creative features that evolve throughout the season. With six park rails and two tubing lanes, Jay Peak offers a well-rounded experience for skiers and riders of all styles.
