Seeing the way folks came together to support each other during this severe winter storm was an incredible reminder of what this mountain and community mean to all of us. We cannot thank you all enough for the patience, support, and understanding you have shown throughout it all.Behind the scenes, our teams worked tirelessly through the storm cycle. They were out from early mornings to late at night, breaking trail through waist-deep snow, clearing, plowing, and shoveling, and doing everything possible to prepare the mountain for a safe opening. Our entire staff remained on call at a moment’s notice, ready to jump in wherever they were needed. This kind of week takes an incredible amount of grit, teamwork, and dedication, and we are endlessly grateful for the people who make this mountain run.Extreme winds, wet and heavy snow, and saturated ground left a historic-level mess on Highway 410, and in many places throughout the state. We’d like to give a huge shoutout to WSDOT and PSE crews for working to clear well over a hundred downed trees, some several feet in diameter, and many of which entangled in powerlines, all up and down our only vital route to the mountain.Yesterday, we were able to reopen and welcome skiers and riders back to the mountain to make the most of this huge snowfall. Trust us—we’re as bummed as you are that we weren’t able to take full advantage of the week’s fresh snow, with so many factors at play, and safety always top of mind.On the brightside, his storm has drastically improved our base coverage to the best it's been all season. Our Summit base depth is now 109 inches and Base Area depth is 72 inches, nearly doubling it from several weeks before. While the coming week’s weather won’t do us much for favors, we’re in a much better spot to carry our season forward into the springtime with as much terrain as possible. With all the stoke in the world, thank you, and we’ll see you on the mountain.– Crystal MountainEvents:Treasure Hunt Tuesday + St Patty's Day Golden Keg Hunt is on tomorrow! We received 52” of new snowfall since the 10th with a whole lot of associated challenges. Mother Nature doesn’t seem to be in the most forgiving mood, however. Freezing levels have skyrocketed well above the summit with afternoon Summit temps in the mid 40’s. Along with that, a weak atmospheric river has taken aim at the Pnw. Avalanche hazard however, is a serious concern. Time to hunker down and let the weather and snowpack duke it out for a bit.
