Snow Reporter Comments: Last updated: Thursday, December 25, 2025 at 6:30AM ptThis storm has brought a lot of rain to the mountains without turning to snow (yet). The main storm has now moved away, but we will still see scattered rain showers and a few thunderstorms through Christmas Day. The weather will stay cold and windy, with daytime temperatures in the low 40s and nighttime temperatures in the 30s. Winds may gust up to 30 to 40 miles per hour.Snow levels will begin to lower, with snow falling around the base area of the resorts. Another storm may arrive tonight night into Friday and could bring more rain and snow. Temperatures will drop even more, and snow levels may fall to about 6,000 feet on Friday. A few inches of snow are possible, with more snow likely at higher elevations and ski resort areas. The rain and snow should end by Friday night or early Saturday, followed by clearer skies for the weekend. Even though skies will clear, the weather will remain cold and breezy, with highs in the 30s to near 40 and lows dropping into the 20s, which will help with snowmaking. For guest and team safety, Bear Mountain will be closed today, Thursday, Christmas Day. Our plan is to reopen Friday, December 26, with hopes of welcoming you back to some fresh snow. Our snowmaking crew will be working hard throughout the storm, and we’re optimistic about opening additional terrain before the New Year.
