Beaver Creek wants to pretend like they're this amazing, supportive family destination. We've been coming here every year for almost a decade, and it gets worse and worse every single year. BC - especially early season - does not really care about families. In fact, I think the most straightforward way to put it is to say that all BC cares about is money. When you show up as an adult, the assumption is that you have money that they can squeeze out of you. When you show up with kids, they assume that means they'll get even more money. Example: BC has a 'beginner' lift pass that only works in the bunny slope area. It used to be $30 a day, which is pretty reasonable. It's now climbed up to $52/day, for no reason at all. Also, other resorts will allow use of carpet lifts for free, but BC wants a lift pass to use them. Gotta pay money to learn to ski/board! If you want to get your kids lessons, you're looking at some of the most expensive rates in the country. Crazy idea: kids ski lessons should be dirt cheap because if you get children into the hobby, they grow up to be people who will spend money doing it. My kids missed out getting lessons because we didn't want to drop $450/day on it. Will they grow up to be adults who like to ski? Who knows... Additionally, you need to know that at Beaver Creek, you are not a priority to them unless it's financially beneficial for them. Early season skiers and boarders are an afterthought when Birds of Prey race is looming... what? Your kids want beginner terrain? Too bad, we need to groom that race course! The workers here are superstars. They all have incredible attitudes and are as helpful as can be, given the employer. BC doesn't seem to treat them very well but whenever we needed help the rank and file were happy to help us out. As far as the terrain and mountain conditions, this is a fantastic resort. There's something for everyone here, the lift lines are usually very reasonable on any given day, and there's a lot of mountain to explore. Plenty of side hits, features, glades, moguls, etc. It's a great setup. The "Chondola" (chair lift with a gondola every 6th spot) is a fantastic feature for people who don't like sitting exposed to the weather for 5+ minute climbs up the mountain or for kids. The snow here is luxurious most of the time, except very early season when it tends to be sparse (mostly because they refuse to open up anything until after Birds of Prey race). And the ski patrol/safety patrol are generally pretty nice and helpful.
A lot of terrain with anything you're looking for, a bunny hill pass option
Lack of concern for families, children, or beginners

Design superiority, whether trail or base area. Vast front side in 3 distinct base areas… fantastic, although ridiculously priced ski school…. Not as large as Vail, but laid out better. Plenty of long and varied intermediate terrain. Some fantastic expert terrain … whether in the Rose Bowl or Grouse Mtn… and don’t forget the Birds of Prey…If you go for a week to the Vail Valley… Mon- Thurs in Vail.. Fri- Sun in BC.. you have to be insane to ski Vail on weekends … and depending on the experience and Apres you want… pick your choice where to stay.
Great terrain, lots for all levels…while not much terrain as Vail, it has better upper intermediate and expert terrain. Very attractive and well designed architecture.. good on moutain food
Expensive

BC is one our favorite resorts. 3-5 mountains all inter connected. Tons of runs less busy and off the major runways. Village food is good but pricey. On mountain food lousy. Much less crowded than other majors.
Not crowded. Great hidden runs. Fab transportation within the resort.
Expensive. Parking is challenging.
Need to pay more attention to homeowner experience as well as infrequent guests.
Great grooming and great bumps

My new favorite resort, I was blown away by the diversity of the terrain here. It may not have the legendary back bowls that Vail does, but since it's less travelled, you can find stashes of powder here days after snowfall. Grouse was still closed, but was able to explore most everything else. I grew very fond of the Tombstone Territory, such an enjoyable glade with various sized jumps and berms. Unfortunately, they are not doing their complimentary hot chocolate and warm cookies aprés ski due to COVID. I would recommend going here instead of Vail on the weekends, this was a local tip I picked up.
tree runs!!, aprés ski, friendly to all skill levels
no groomed black trails from what I saw

Beaver Creek is one of my favorite resorts and go to mountains. They have nice diversity of trails for all levels. Some of the great things are that they have a nice amount of green trails at the peak of the mountain which you don’t get at many resorts. Also, you to hang around for the Apres hot coco and chocolate chip cookies. It’s what they’re known for.
Great for Families, types of terrain.
not much for apres ski and dinning

good skiing but expensive

Need to hire more help to maintain mountain. Lift operators just sit and do not make an effort to keep the access ramp in good shape or help with the lift. Grooming very inadequate. Not what we are used to. Disappointed
Beautiful resort and good skiing
Slope grooming very inadequate this year. Very expensive resort so need to be more considerate.
