Schweitzer Trail Map
Schweitzer offers 2,900 acres (1,174 ha) of skiable terrain spread across the mountain's main sectors, including Schweitzer Bowl, South Bowl, and North Bowl. The resort rises from a base elevation of 4,000 ft (1,219 m) to a summit of 6,400 ft (1,951 m), delivering a vertical drop of 2,400 ft (732 m). Its 92 trails are served by 10 lifts, including high-speed six-pack and quad chairlifts, fixed-grip triple and double chairs, and surface lifts, making it easy to explore the mountain efficiently while enjoying panoramic views of Lake Pend Oreille and the surrounding Selkirk Mountains.
Families and beginners will appreciate the dedicated learning terrain around Musical Chairs, where gentle runs such as Easy Street and Midway provide an ideal place to build confidence. Intermediate skiers have plenty to explore on favourites including Cathedral Aisle, Zip Down, Ridge Run, and Little Blue Ridge, the resort's longest continuous groomed run. One of Schweitzer's standout advantages is that every chairlift provides access to at least one intermediate trail, making it easy for mixed-ability groups to ski together throughout the day.
Advanced and expert skiers can head toward South Bowl, Outback Bowl, and North Bowl, where steeper pitches, natural bowls, gladed terrain, and more technical descents create a rewarding challenge. Runs such as Stiles and Quicksilver are popular with stronger skiers, particularly after fresh snowfall. Freestyle riders can enjoy Stomping Grounds, with medium and large features, or develop their skills in the Terrain Garden. Combined with its varied terrain, scenic ridgelines, and expansive alpine views, Schweitzer offers something engaging for every level of skier and snowboarder.
